Kyle Crossland,
our Fine Arts Judge, is a graduate of Kansas City Art Institute and
has also studied with several prominent ceramists. He recently received an
Artistic Renewal Fellowship from the Indiana Arts Council. He is currently
the Ceramics Studio Technician at the Indianapolis Art Center. He has taught
at the Art Center for over 12 years. He also has his own studio, Crossland
Crafts.
Dallas Evans, our Naturalist Judge,
is the Educator/Curator of Natural Science at The Children’s Museum of
Indianapolis. He has been the science curator at the museum for nearly 15
years where his work entails participating in the development of new
exhibits, research, maintaining the museum’s natural history collections and
searching for new specimens for the museum. He has worked as the lead
curator on such exhibits as Dinosphere, Bones and ScienceWorks. Dallas has
made recent presentations for the Indiana Society of Professional
Geologists, the Indiana Paleontological Society, and the Society of
Vertebrate Paleontology. In 2005 he was also awarded a certificate of merit
from the Indiana Society of Professional Geologists for his contributions to
science education.
