INDIANA WILDLIFE ARTISTS (IWA)

IWA is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the advancement of wildlife art as a fine art, providing wildlife artists an opportunity to meet, to learn and to display their work in our Annual Exhibit.

IWA encourages the recognition and understanding of wildlife among its members by offering special events sponsored by one of the Chapters at various wildlife facilities, parks and preserves around the State.

IWA also sponsors seminars and workshops on wildlife art and related topics for members and other groups upon request. IWA underwrites one special major event every year: the Annual Fine Art Exhibit.

By the production and displaying of quality wildlife fine art, Indiana Wildlife Artists can bring attention to the many wonders that exist in nature. The protection and preservation of wildlife, be it flora or fauna, is very important for future generations.

  • 1. PAINTING: oil, alkyd; acrylic; transparent or opaque watercolor or any aqua media.
    2. DRAWING: pastel; charcoal; graphite; colored pencil; scratchboard; ink.
    3. PHOTOGRAPHY: film or digital with or without standard enhancements; film or digitally altered, digitally manipulated images.
    4. THREE-DIMENSIONAL: carving and sculptures created in any durable material.
    5. MIXED MEDIA and OTHER: any combination of media or artwork not covered in above categories.

    ✓ ALL LANDSCAPES MUST HAVE A SPECIFIC IDENTIFIABLE WILDLIFE SUBJECT be it ZOOLOGICAL OR BOTANICAL.

  • IWA membership is open to all individuals within the United States who have a strong interest in nature and exhibit this interest through their artwork and/or support.

  • Share and colaberate with like-minded artists through our newsletter, this website, emails and more.
    Join in special events like photo opportunites, workshops, community activies hosted by IWA, one of its
    Chapters or members - or host one of your own!
    Gain more exposure for your work by exhibiting in our Annual Fine Art Exhibit.

  • We have many categories of Membership:
    ASSOCIATE: An Individual (often spouses of members) who wishes to encourage appreciation and understanding of wildlife and is willing to aid in promoting wildlife art.
    WILDLIFE ADVOCATE: A contributing individual, family or entity who for a minimum of $100 supports the organization enabling IWA to meet it's Mission Statement.
    ARTIST: A practicing wildlife artist whose quality of artwork is recognized by the IWA Screening Committee.
    SIGNATURE ARTIST: An outstanding member who has stepped up to support I.W.A. by:

      *Producing award-winning works of Wildlife Art.
      *Has held an office at the Board level.
      *Volunteered signficant services to IWA or a Wildlife Conservation Organization.
      *Accepts the Aims, Focus, and Mission of IWA.

    • ARTIST MEMBERSHIP $50.OO This includes insurance for hanging in the Annual Exhibit.
      ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP $10.00
      SPOUSE MEMBERSHIP $5.00

      A brief statement about yourself - or attach your resume with permission to reproduce it in our catalog.
      A picture of yourself for the catalog as well.
      A ceck for your dues.
