✓ The artwork must show a serious approach to nature and depict one or more species in a manner which captures the essence of the subject.
✓ ALL SUBJECTS – ZOOLOGICAL OR BOTANICAL - MUST BE WILD.
✓ No domestic animals, plants, birds or fish will be accepted.
✓ Man- made objects/structures may not appear in the art piece, unless found in the subject’s natural habitat.
✓ ALL LANDSCAPES MUST HAVE A SPECIFIC IDENTIFIABLE WILDLIFE SUBJECT be it ZOOLOGICAL OR BOTANICAL.
✓ ALL WORK MUST BE ORIGINAL -THE CONCEPT MUST BE THE ARTIST'S OWN
Referenced photographs used in creating the work must have been taken by the artist, or used with express written consent of the photographer.
✓ Entries submitted may not have been exhibited in previous IWA Annual Exhibits.
✓ IWA reserves the right to refuse any entry that the group deems inappropriate or that greatly differs from the entry samples submitted.
The Judging Panel consists of two judges who are recognized for their expertise in that category: FINE ARTS JUDGE and NATURALIST JUDGE
• All work will be judged for quality of artistic presentation and appropriate depiction of both wildlife and habitat. Both judges will agree on recipients of major awards.
• At the judges’ discretion, ribbons and cash awards will be awarded for First, Second and Third Place in each category. The judges may also award up to two Honorable Mention ribbons in each category.
• Presentation of awards will take place at the Reception and Award Ceremony on the afternoon or evening of the set-up date.
